Support Isaac’s House: How You Can Make a Lasting Difference

Every contribution, no matter the size, is a powerful act of hope that helps to rebuild lives in Uganda. At Isaac’s House, we are deeply committed to ensuring that the support from our incredible community of donors and sponsors creates a tangible and lasting positive impact. With only 1 in 4 children in Uganda having the opportunity to attend secondary school due to prohibitive fees, your support is more critical than ever. Join us in our mission to provide the best education and start in life for the children and families we serve.

Why Your Support Matters

When you choose to support Isaac’s House, you are investing in a future where children are educated, families are empowered, and communities are strengthened.

Because we are a small, family-run charity with minimal overheads, we can ensure that approximately 90% of your donation goes directly to our projects on the ground. Your generosity translates directly into school fees paid, meals provided, medical care administered, and families empowered.

Ways to Contribute and Get Involved

There are numerous ways to join our family and make a profound difference. Choose the path that best suits you!

1. Make a Financial Contribution

This is the most direct and impactful way to support our ongoing work. Your financial gift allows us to respond to the most pressing needs.

Sponsor a Child

Sponsorship is a beautiful way to build a personal connection and witness the incredible impact of your long-term support.

  • Education Sponsorship (£20 a month): This comprehensive sponsorship is a lifeline that covers a child’s school fees, educational supplies, boarding requirements, food, clothing, and healthcare. As a sponsor, you will be able to build a personal bond with the child you support. You will receive regular updates, letters, and photographs, allowing you to see them grow and develop over the years, knowing that your ongoing giving is making a monumental difference in their life.
  • General Support (£5 a month): If a full sponsorship isn’t right for you, a smaller monthly donation contributes to our general fund, providing for the collective needs of all the children, including food, clothing, and recreational activities.

Make a One-Time Donation

Every single donation, no matter the amount, helps! Your gift can provide emergency food for a family, cover an unexpected medical expense, or purchase essential school supplies. It all adds up to create a powerful wave of change.

2. Fundraise for Us

Get your friends, family, and community involved by organizing your own fundraising event. The possibilities are endless and it’s a fun way to raise vital funds and awareness.

  • Host an Event: Consider a bake sale, a sponsored run or walk, a coffee morning, a quiz night, or a “dress-down” day at your workplace or school.
  • Take on a Challenge: Participate in our annual “Step into Summer” challenge or create your own personal challenge, like a sponsored silence or a fitness goal.
  • Celebrate with Us: For your next birthday or celebration, consider asking for donations to Isaac’s House in lieu of gifts.

3. Volunteer Your Skills

As a small charity, we rely on the skills and passion of volunteers to support our daily operations in the UK. If you have expertise in areas like fundraising, marketing, administration, or social media management, your time and talent would be invaluable to us.

4. Donate Items

We are always grateful for donations of good-quality items that can be sold to raise funds or can be taken directly to Uganda for our children and staff.

  • Items for Fundraising: Good quality used clothing, paperback books, and other household items are perfect for us to sell at car boot sales.
  • Items for Uganda: New clothing, educational toys, and essential school supplies are always needed. If you would like to send a gift, we kindly request that it be something that can be shared among all the children at the home. Please contact us to find out our most current needs before sending.
  • Collect Used Stamps: This is a simple but effective way to raise funds! We can turn used postage stamps into donations.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How can I be sure my donation is being used effectively?

As a small, family-run charity, transparency is at the core of our values. We have very low administrative costs, which allows us to direct approximately 90% of all donations straight to our projects in Uganda. We provide regular updates through our news section and social media to show you exactly how your support is making a difference.

If I sponsor a child, will I have direct contact?

Yes! We believe in building personal connections. When you sponsor a child for £20 a month, you will receive personalized letters and photographs from the child you are supporting. This allows you to follow their journey and see the incredible impact of your generosity firsthand.

What kind of items are most needed in Uganda?

While we appreciate all offers, the needs on the ground change. Before collecting or sending items, please contact us first. Generally, essential school supplies (notebooks, pens, pencils), new clothing (especially school shoes and uniforms), and basic medical supplies are most useful. For sponsors wishing to send a personal gift, we recommend small, shareable items like art supplies, puzzles, or sports equipment.

I’m interested in volunteering in Uganda. Is this possible?

We occasionally have opportunities for dedicated volunteers to travel to Uganda. These trips require a significant commitment and are carefully planned. If you are seriously interested in volunteering on the ground, please contact us directly for more information and an application form.

How do I make a financial donation?

You can make a secure one-time or recurring donation via our trusted online giving partners. Alternatively, for direct bank transfers or to set up a standing order, please contact us for our banking details. Every method is secure and greatly appreciated.
